The FSWA is pleased to announce that in addition to their Fantasy Football Player of the Year award, they will be adding a Fantasy Football Rookie of the Year award this year.

The process for the Rookie of the Year will be similar to the MVP. The FSWA Board of Directors will narrow the pool to five candidates upon the completion of the season. FSWA membership will vote to determine the winner of the award.

“This year’s rookie class is deep and talented,” said Mike Beacom, FSWA president and chairman, “ so we’re expecting a tight race.”

The FSWA is the official selection body for the player of the year awards for all fantasy sports.

Carolina running back DeAngelo Williams was named the 2008 FSWA Fantasy Football MVP; New England quarterback Tom Brady won the award in 2007.
